HOW IS LACE FRONT MADE?

Lace Front

How are lace front made? What makes lace front better than other choices? Why are lace front wigs more expensive than other wigs on the market? The answer to all of these questions goes back to the first question: how are lace front made. The cap of the wig is hand knotted and made out of transparent Swiss of French lace. Most commonly the lace cap stretches from ear to ear to cover the whole scalp and give the most comfortable fit. Other types of caps are the cap with only a front lace and then another has lace around the perimeter of the head, allowing a blend with the rest of the natural hair. The wig maker will then hand-tie each individual strand of hair into the lace mesh; making sure that the hair cuticle all faces one direction to help with the natural look. Most prime wig makers use Remy Indian hair, which comes from the head of a single donor.
