What is the scalp protector
There are several terminologies associated with lace front units and lace wigs generally. Scalp protector is one of the products that are used along with lace wigs. This product is very necessary when installing lace front wigs. Just as the name implies, the product protects the scalp; it is applied on the part of your scalp where adhesive will be applied. The product combats any likely reaction or irritation from the adhesive.
So, is scalp protector optional?
I guess you already know the answer; if the product works to shield your scalp skin from the negative impact of lace wig adhesive, then it is not an optional product. However, if some stylists advice otherwise; insist on scalp protector application prior to adhesive application on your scalp skin. Scalp protector cannot be separated from lace front wigs.Whether or not you have sensitive skin, it is better to play safe by insisting on using scalp protector on your hairline.
What are the other benefits of using a scalp protector?
The scalp protector or skin-shield also helps in improving the firmness of lace front wigs, thus serving dual purpose. Lace front wigs guarantee undetectable and natural hair-look always. However, it is important to protect your skin from possible dermal irritation that could result from adhesives. You have nothing to lose by doing so; instead, your skin would stay safe and you will achieve extra-hold benefit. Needless to say, the scalp protector is a must get product for your units.

I enjoy receiving your informative articles. I have visited many lace front wig sites and yours is the only one that offers this unique addition to customer service.
I have always used the scalp protector, however after 2 years of wearing lace front & full lace wigs, I have become allergic to the tape & glue, even though I use the scalp protector. Do you have any suggestions of other products I may be able to use to protect my scalp? I hate that I am unable to wear them without removing my wigs every night. I feel I am weakening my unit by removing it every day.
Thank you & keep up the good work!

Thank you very much for reading your articles. I think the best thing to do is to use a glue that is made for sensitive skins. I like invisibond the best because its bonding agent is water and does not have any harsh chemicals used to make it. If you would like to see more information about it- click on the link below

By removing your unit daily you are not weakening it as long as you gently remove it.
Thank you for that you know not one person has ever told me that and I would have gone through life not knowing anything about that.
But you can bet when my husband does land that really good job and I get to have a full lace wig I will know what I need to protect my scalp.
Thank you again how kind you are to share that with us who just do not know any better.
Thanks and Bless you always.
